Now that we are nearly two weeks into the new year, how are you doing with your New Year’s Resolutions? #1 Set Boundaries: If you are used to saying “yes” to everything, and have a hard time speaking your truth in fear of judgment from others, it’s time to set some boundaries. Boundaries are incredibly important as they can help you gain much-deserved respect, and can help you feel better about yourself. Set boundaries this year by saying no to what does not serve you, and be ok with the fact that not everyone has to agree with your life choices, but that they have to respect them! Boundaries are a form of self-love, so focus on setting some this year!
#2 Set Work Hours: Whether you are self-employed, or work for someone else, strive to set some set work hours that you can commit to. After your working hours are up, check out for the day. Turn off your email if need be, and just focus on whatever else you have going on that day. While work is a very important part of life for so many people, it can also be all-consuming which can prevent you from achieving balance in other areas of your life. Try to focus on work only during your working hours, and then focus on other areas of your life when you are done with work for the day.
#3 Make a Commitment to Daily Self-Care: This year, make a commitment to taking care of yourself in at least one way each day. Self-care should never be optional, and if you haven’t been taking great care of yourself lately, make this the year you start. Practice some form of self-care each night before bed. Things like baths, sipping on Holy Basil tea while reading a book, or even just a short yoga routine are all excellent ways to take care of yourself. Self-care will help you achieve balance as you can’t pour from an empty cup. So, remember that self-care is selfless not selfish.
