A Daily Plan to Fit More Self-Care into Your Day

Self-care is so important, and so many of us forget to take care of ourselves on a day-to-day basis. It’s so easy to forget to make time for ourselves when we are busy taking care of others, or too busy working to find the time. However, the truth is that self-care should never be optional, and we should never feel guilty about taking care of ourselves. The better we take care of ourselves, the better we will be able to take care of others and complete our daily tasks.

With that being said, it’s not always easy to find the time for self-care, so today, we are sharing five ways you can make sure you are adding more self-care into your day that doesn’t require a huge time commitment.

#1 Wake up Earlier: While getting up earlier may not sound like the ideal way of taking care of you, you may quickly learn to love the early morning hours to yourself! For some, waking up earlier is the only time they can catch a few minutes of self-care time before the day starts. Try getting up 20-30 minutes earlier to do what you need to do for you. Maybe this means enjoying a cup of coffee without having to reheat it five times or having a nutritious breakfast without having to rush. Whatever it means for you, try getting up a little earlier to have some time to yourself.

#2 Squeeze in Time During Your Lunch Break: Another great way to find some time for you is during your lunch break. Try going for a quick walk or doing some meditation during lunch. This is a great way to take care of yourself, and you will feel more centered when you return to your workday.

#3 Set Frequent Short Breaks Throughout Your Day: Some of us forget to take breaks throughout the day. We aren’t designed to go, go, go without any type of a break. Make sure to set frequent short breaks for yourself during the day. Even if it just means taking a few minutes to do some mindful breathing as you sit at your desk throughout the day.
