We can deny the fact that stress is affecting us all at a global level, and with more people being told to stay inside and unable to go about their normal day-to-day, it’s easy to start to feel the pressure and overwhelm of what’s going on around us.
So, we want to share one hack that may help you feel a bit less overwhelmed, and we’re taking micro habits and goals.
What Are Micro Goals & Habits?
Simply put, these are small, actionable, and realistic to accomplish goals or habits you set up for yourself. They can serve as a very motivating, and less intimidating way to go after and tackle some of the things on your daily to-do list or to take steps towards reaching longer-term goals.
How to Use Micro Goals & Habits Right Now
With everyone having more time at home, there’s no better time than now to put together a list of very simple and fairly each to accomplish goals for yourself as you start each day.
Maybe this means doing a 20-minute workout or cleaning one area of your house. Write it out and set new goals each day.
You can also use this extra time at home to start setting new healthy habits for yourself. Remember — this doesn’t mean these new healthy habits need to be something huge. Something as simple as a relaxing evening routine to wind down your day is a great start.
To get started, all you need is a pen and paper and a few micro goals to tackle each day. Once you cross off each one, you’ll be motivated to continue to accomplish all the other small things you want to get done during this time we are all staying home.
And, what about those larger goals you may have set at the start of the year? You can also set small goals each day to work towards something bigger — such as working towards an hour workout by starting with 15-20 minutes each day.
Bring More Positivity Into Your Day
This is a great time to do something positive and work towards something. It will help keep your energy and mood high during this stressful time, which is something we all could benefit from.
So, see what the power of daily micro goals and setting up new micro healthy habits can do for you. It may be what you need to bring a bit more positivity into your day.
