Can you believe that we are officially two weeks into the new year? As we go through the month of January, there’s no better time than now to check in with your new year’s goals and see how you’re feeling about all the goals you set for yourself this year.
We’re breaking down why checking in with your goals is important and three ways you can do that this month.
Why Checking in With Your Goals is Important
So, why is checking in with your new year’s goals important anyway? For one, it’s a great way to see how you’re feeling about everything—to check in and see if your goals and expectations were realistic, or if they need some tweaking.
When you take the time to check-in, you can adjust them to set yourself up for success this year!
3 Hacks to Check-in With Your New Year's Goals
#1 Ask Yourself if Your Goals Are Realistic
Like we just mentioned, having realistic goals is key. You don’t want to set yourself up for failure simply by making your goals so hard to achieve. So, take some time to check-in. Are you able to stick to your plan to tackle your goals, or are you finding it too difficult?
If you need to adjust, now’s the perfect time as we’re only two weeks into 2020!
#2 Set New Goals if Needed
Just because 2019 is behind us doesn’t mean you can’t set new goals for yourself. There’s no rule saying that you can’t set new year’s goals two weeks into the new year, so if you thought about something you want to work on this year, make some new goals now!
#3 Are You Feeling Challenged Enough
Just like you don’t want to feel totally overwhelmed by your new year’s goals, you also want to push yourself a bit too. Check-in and see how your goals and your plan to work towards them have felt over the last two weeks. If you aren’t feeling challenged enough, think about how you can push yourself a bit more.
Maybe you set some fitness goals for yourself but aren’t feeling all that challenged. Try stepping things up by maybe adding an additional training day in.
A Mid-January Check in Could Transform Your Year
Often times, we set new year’s resolutions and goals only to let them go by the wayside come February (life gets busy!) But, when you take the time to check in just a few weeks into the new year to evaluate how things are working for you, you can make the necessary tweaks!
So, take some time to reflect on your goals now to set yourself up for success throughout the rest of the year.
