We’re sharing four NASA recommended plants (according to a Clear Air Study) to consider adding to your home to help clean the air and help remove certain toxins. Many of the plants were shown to help filter out toxins such as benzene, ammonia and formaldehyde.

The aloe plant can be added to any room that gets a decent amount of light. It doesn’t require frequent watering, making it a great low maintenance option.

Also known as the Mother-In-Law’s Tongue, this plant is thought to help purify the air of a handful of toxins. Its bright, vibrant green color adds a nice touch to any room. 

#3 Areca Palm

Looking for a larger option? An Areca Palm is a great option. It adds a nice tropical feel to any room and has some great air purifying properties. 

#4 Red Edged Dracaena 

Here’s another larger plant option that makes a great choice when you are looking for a plant to add to a larger space in your home. The leaves have a touch of red, adding a nice pop of color.
