It’s hard to believe that June is almost over and that the Fourth of July is right around the corner! We wanted to share our roundup of some of our favorite healthier recipes to enjoy at your holiday BBQ that taste delicious but without all of the added junk.

Here are 7 Healthier 4th of July recipes we hope you can enjoy next weekend! 


7 Healthier Fourth of July Recipes   


#1 Sweet Potato Burgers: What Fourth of July BBQ is complete without a burger, right? Give this plant-based option created by (@chocolatecoveredkatie) made with sweet potato, cannellini beans, and lots of delicious and flavorful spices a try.  

#2 Healthier Cheesecake Recipe: (@chocolatecoveredkatie) does it yet again with this healthy cheesecake recipe, and she even gives options to make this dairy-free. If you love a traditional slice of cheesecake every Fourth of July, give this healthier option a try. 

#3 Red White & Blue Parfait: We came up with this recipe to help celebrate Memorial Day, and it makes a great Fourth of July treat as well. You can prep this festive parfait a day ahead of your Fourth of July BBQ or get together, and then take it out of the fridge right before you are ready to enjoy it. You can also make small single serve parfait cups for your guest that everyone is sure to enjoy! 

#4 Guilt-Free Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream: One of our own recipes, this guilt-free mint chocolate chip ice cream makes a great Fourth of July dessert option! You can make it ahead of time, and store it in the freezer until ready to enjoy. It’s delicious and super refreshing, perfect for a hot summer night. 

#5 Cucumber Basil Kombucha Mule: If you’re craving a holiday-inspired beverage, this cucumber basil kombucha mule shared by (@therealfooddietitians) looks like a delicious refreshing option that’s low in sugar and free from the yucky ingredients commonly found in store-bought beverages.
